Online presentation of the deliverable 2.1- Curricula analysis and assessment report

On 16 July 2025, the CULTIVAR partners publicly presented Deliverable 2.1 – Curricula Analysis and Assessment Report.

The report evaluates existing curricula in the project’s key areas in Cabo Verde and São Tomé and Príncipe. It provides a foundation for planning teacher training under Work Package 3 and for developing project activities in Work Package 4 in both countries.

Structured around key sections, the report includes an overview of the higher education systems in both countries, the applied methodology, main findings on curricula, a benchmarking comparison with EU partners, and recommendations for improvement. It also prepares the ground for the next phase of the project—Training of Teachers and Curricula Update (WP3).

Led by the University of Cape Verde and the University of Évora, with contributions from the University of São Tomé and Príncipe, Instituto Superior de Ciências Económicas e Empresariais, and Instituto Piaget de Cabo Verde, the report analyses current higher education programmes in fields such as History, Cultural Heritage, Social Sciences, Sustainable Tourism, Agronomy, and Food Production.

This report will lay the groundwork for strengthening the capacity of partner HEIs to address local development challenges, enhance the employability of graduates, and promote sustainable cultural and economic development in both countries.
